“agenda.” – A Political Magazine

All political commentary comes with an agenda, and magazine is no exception. This left-leaning political magazine focuses on a different issue with each publication, this one focusing on immigration to the USA. The pages have elements of burned or crumpled paper to show the messy fragility of the system currently in place, and the crowded and dense images reflect the intensity and the panic of the immigrants. Using a constant red masthead emphasizes the urgency of the situations at hand. Finally, the table of contents takes some time to bring humanity into the issue. The photograph highlights different elements that immigrants may take with them on their journey and offers an intimate look into the harrowing journey.

The Old Man and the Sea- Book Cover Redesign

The Old Man and the Sea is Hemingway’s classic tale describing the fight for life and honor and pushing our human abilities. The cover details the struggle between an old man and a swordfish out at sea through the imagery used on both sides.. The screen-print feeling is utilized to show that this is a classic enough story to have history attached to it, while adding bright colors and scale changes to give the cover a more modern feel. Beyond this, the yellow and blue tones are a nod to the story taking place in the water, and the linear markings across the page imply the journey that is happening.

“aurora” – A Shave Kit for Young Teens

Personal body choices are present throughout teens lives, one of them being choosing to shave their body. This can differ depending on the living situation, whether that be someone living with a single father, if a teen is living in foster care, or personal care being considered taboo in several cultures. This shaving kit aims to bridge that gap by providing teens with a one-stop-shop with information explaining the full process to the consumer, specifically teens that are present more femininely. It has encouraging messaging and brightly colored patterns to create a safe and supportive feeling, as they may not receive that at home. The package has a notecard and brochure that guides consumers through the shaving process. The outer packaging has a moving band that allows the consumer to cover the name of the product, to ensure privacy.
