Mumbai Travel Campaign

This cohesive system of graphics encourages travel to Mumbai, India. After researching the aesthetics of Mumbai, I consulted my contacts from Gabriel Project Mumbai to ensure that this system reflects Indian culture in a respectful tone. This campaign includes a poster, postcard, envelopes, and stamps.

Children as Enemies

Children as Enemies, by Ha Jin, unravels the cultural tension between generations of a Chinese family living in the United States. The grandparents have reservations with American culture and resent their son and daughter-in-law for allowing their young children to lose interest in traditional Chinese culture. The double-sided accordion fold elaborates on the grandparents’ feeling that their culture is withering away. The Chinese character on the cover and first page translates to “ancestor,” and page by page, it morphs into three vertical lines. The vertical lines refer to the grandfather’s frustration that his grandson spends calligraphy class making simple lines rather than traditional Chinese calligraphy.
