Hi, I am a multimedia artist turned graphic designer from Philadelphia. When I am away from my design workspace you can find me reading with some coffee, painting surrounded by plants, or exploring the city with my camera.

Alternative Beta Case

I explored two of my favorite topics from each sphere of art and design. Combining materiality and typography to invent my version of the ABCs. Each letter was inspired by or fabricated from a topic or material that also began with that letter. The diversity of approaches when crafting each letter form proved to be a very interesting design challenge. Using my alphabet, I designed a book which is hand bound and truly one of a kind. With a wire gridded, metal framed book cover, I hope this book is as captivating to flip through as it was to make.

Ruth Asawa Artist Catalogue

An artist catalog for the inspiring work of Ruth Asawa. I attempted to pay homage to her incredible wire sculptures by utilizing wire elements and typography for the cover and spine. The wire embroidered type on the cover was hand done. The spreads themselves I kept very clean. I wanted her sculptures and artwork to be exhibited on the page as if the viewer was looking at a museum wall. The typefaces used were incredibly thin, emulating the wired nature of her pieces. The page number system doubled as thumb-able tabs, guiding the reader through the spreads. Each of the sixty pages were hand bound together using a unique stitch that evolved from coptic binding.

Catastrophe Kit

A fun twist on a survival kit, the Catastrophe Kit was designed to help out those in design school who are in a pinch for time. This packaging project was fabricated with all the uniquely strange scenarios that design students often find themselves in when deadlines are approaching. With products ranging from an adapter to extra exact knives, this kit has got you covered. All products are housed inside a hollow book which opens to reveal two compartments that layer onto of each other for a snug fit. This bento box inspired kit is easily portable or is right at home on your bookshelf.
