Hi, I’m Nicole and I like long walks on the beach! – oh wait, wrong profile. I’m a graphic designer originally from New York. As a determined, detail-oriented, and curious designer, I enjoy problem-solving and experimenting to create purposeful design.

GroundUp Steeped Coffee

Aimed toward young adults who value both convenience and quality, this steeped coffee bag packaging has a fun, geometric look with a bit of a mid-century modern influence. Each box would have a different blend named after the coffee’s origin country. Within the patterning is an animal found in each country, also made from simple geometric shapes. The color palettes of each blend’s box are also inspired by the places they’re named after.

Cosmo’s Drive-In Theatre

For my capstone, I wanted to brand my own 21st-century take on a drive-in movie theatre. Whether it be for a family outing or date night, Cosmo’s Drive-In Theatre allows anyone of any age to travel back in time and experience the nostalgia and fun of a drive-in but enhanced with additional and updated experiences for the present-day consumer. I aimed to create a system that feels nostalgic and playful, taking inspiration from retro-futurism and 50s design, including vintage matchbook covers. Because many drive-ins took inspiration from space in their naming, I created “Cosmo,” whose fun personality guides the feeling of the brand. The system also incorporates layered inked textures, seen in both hand-drawn illustrations and in combination with imagery, and bright colors which reflect the excitement of movies and drive-ins.

The Home of the Future

This poster maps out the smart technologies that could be found within a current day home. The illustration takes inspiration from mid-century modern design, as this poster is created from the perspective of a person in the 1950s describing what seemingly “crazy” technology would look like in the future.
